What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding lets like-minded fans come together to help create a new and unique collectible. Fans can show their support for a proposed item by becoming backers and placing pre-orders during the campaign period. If we receive enough pre-orders, the item can go into production. The result is a community-created collectible that fans will be proud to have co-funded!

How does this campaign work?

If we reach our goal of 10,000 pre-orders before the campaign ends on October 9, 2023 at 11:59 PM PT, the Gasser will go into production and will be shipped to backers in Fall 2024 (estimated). If the goal isn’t met by the end date, the project will be canceled, and all pending credit card and installment payment charges will be released.

I live outside the U.S. Can I participate in this crowdfund campaign?

Yes. We’ll ship to any country listed in the “Country” field that appears on the Shipping page of your checkout process. See the current list of countries and restrictions at https://creations.mattel.com/pages/shipping-rates-policy.

For International consumers, please note regional pricing includes duties and taxes as appropriate. In addition, a shipping surcharge has been added to international pricing due to higher costs of shipping this large scale item overseas.

When will I be charged?

If you elect to pay in full with any payment option, you won’t be charged until the campaign has reached the minimum goal of 10,000 backers. The pre-order amount will show as “pending” on your credit card. When the campaign succeeds, your payment will then be processed. If it doesn’t succeed, your pre-order will be canceled, and the pending charge will disappear.

If you elect to pay with Shop Pay Installments (where available), you will be charged for the first installment when you place your pre-order, and any subsequent installments that may be scheduled during the campaign period, depending on the payment schedule you choose. If the campaign succeeds, the rest of your installment payments will take place as scheduled. If it doesn’t succeed, your pre-order will be canceled, and any previously charged installment payments will be refunded. Learn more about this option at Shop Pay.

Do you offer financing options?

At any point during the campaign, US residents will have the option to finance their pre-order. Through Shop Pay, you can split your purchase into installment payments with no additional, hidden, or late fees. Learn more about this option at Shop Pay.

After the campaign reaches the minimum goal of 10,000 backers, US and international backers may also have the option to use PayPal Pay Later installments (where available). Learn more about this option at PayPal.

What is the estimated ship date?

Fall 2024. All items unlocked during the campaign will ship at the same time.

Do you accept refunds or cancellations?

You may cancel your pre-order during the campaign period by calling Customer Service at 1-800-858-0102, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. ET. (Please note, holiday hours may vary.) After the campaign period ends, on October 9, 2023 at 11:59 PM PT, there will be no refunds or exchanges.

Where do you ship to?

In most cases, we ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPOs, the U.S. territories, Alaska, and Hawaii. We can ship to any country listed in the “Country” field that appears on the Shipping page of your checkout process. International shipping restrictions may apply. Because this item is large and heavy, a surcharge of $25 may be applied to orders.
